West Wales

With its spectacular coastal scenery and unique wildlife, the Ceredigion coastline of Cardigan Bay is a little known gem of Britain. Llainfran lies on the southern edge of the Bay with far reaching views to Bardsey Island and the Llyn Peninsula. It is the perfect base for exploring the south Ceredigion and north Pembrokeshire coasts.

The rugged coastline is a diverse landscape defined by cliffs, small hidden coves, smugglers caves and sandy beaches; a refuge for wildlife and a world of adventure.

The Wales Coast Path links coastal villages and secluded bays making this a haven for walkers and a nature lover’s paradise. Dolphins and seals are frequent companions in the coastal waters within walking distance of Llainfran. Cliff top walks make this stretch of coastline ideal for dolphin watching, birdwatching or simply enjoying the fresh, clean coastal air. A tranquil escape from congested city life.

If you are looking to avoid the more popular and crowded coastal parts of Britain, or looking for a different stretch of coastline to explore, Llainfran is the perfect destination.

Along with our own special south Ceredigion coastline, the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park is within a 30 minute drive. Cardigan with its recently restored castle overlooking the historic river Teifi valley is a similar short drive away. Aberystwyth is just a 45 minute drive north, while inland there are historic villages and towns to explore including Newcastle Emlyn, Llandysul and Lampeter.

Within a ten minute drive of Llainfran (or a morning walk along the coast) the sheltered fishing village of New Quay with its historic stone quay and colourful terraces of houses provides a range of cafes, pubs and restaurants as well as dolphin watching, fishing and scenic boat trips along the coast. Once the home of Dylan Thomas, the village inspired the writing of Under Milk Wood.
